The survey and control point data within this file are
documented in the following reports available from the
Planning Division of the City of Santa Fe:
- 1994, Network Control Point Monumentation Record, Volume IV,
Prepared for the City and County of Santa Fe by Bohannan-
Huston Inc. and Thomas R. Mann and Associates, Inc.
- 1992, GPS Blue Book Report, Volumes I-III, Prepared for
the City and County of Santa Fe by Bohannan-Huston Inc.
- 1982, Santa Fe Urban Area Photogrammetric Mapping Survey
and Monumentation Project, Prepared for the City of Santa Fe
and Sangre de Cristo Water Company by Bohannan-Huston Inc. and
Professional Land Surveying.
1992 - Control points established in 1992 include 105 Group C-order 1 used
as primary control and 261 Group C-order 2class II (1:20,000) used as photo
control to generate ortho photographs published at 1:2400 scale. Accuracy
statements and conversion algorithms are found in the above cited
publications.
1982 - Control points established in 1982 include 109 order 2 class II used
as control to generate ortho photographs published at 1:2400 scale.
Vertical control established by spirit levels order 3 and vertical angle
traverse order3. Horizontal control points were originally collected as
NAD27 and converted to NAD83 by Bohannan-Huston using the following
methodology
1. Control station "HUD-2" was occupied as a primary control
point in the Santa Fe County GIS Network (SFCGIS 1992). The difference
between the NAD27 coordinates and the NAD83 coordinates derived
for the 1992 SFCGIS Network were first calculated. the differences
in the northing and easting were then applied uniformly to all the
NAD27 values to obtain "pseudo NAD83" coordinates.
2. Control station SFC No. 51 and SFC No. 67 were also occupied as
primary control points in the 1992 SFCGIS Network. The bearing between
the NAD27 coordinates and the NAD83 coordinates derived for the 1992
SFCGIS Network differed by 1l5 seconds between HUD-2 and SFC No. 67
and differed by 0.03 seconds between HUD-2 and SFC No. 51.
3. The "psuedo NAD83" coordinates derived above were then rotated
to fit the 1992 SFCGIS Network bearing between HUD-2 and SFC No. 67.
This resulted in a very good fit between the three points.
